Dr Donald Franklin, Chair
Donald
Franklin is a Founder Trustee and Chair of the Jerusalem Interest-free
Microfinance Fund Limited. He has responsibility for day to day
communication with the JIMF office in Jerusalem. He shares with Fiyaz
Mughal responsibility for liaising with institutional foundations in
the UK and the USA.
Donald
has worked as a Senior Economic Adviser in the UK’s Government Economic
Service for the last thirteen years, both at H M Treasury, and latterly
at the Department of Health. He is Co-Chair of the Inter-departmental
Group on the Value of Life and Health, and Treasurer of the Middle East
and North Africa Health Policy Forum (a regional network of health
policy experts sponsored by the UK). Prior to joining the Government
Economic Service in 1991, Donald served as Chief Economist to Schroders
PLC (then an independent British merchant bank) for a number of years.
Donald
was educated at King’s College Cambridge and the London School of
Economics, and received his PhD from University College London in 2000.
